Hindus have commended Salt Lake City School District (SLCSD) in Utah for offering yoga in its various schools, calling it a step in the positive direction. Course Catalog (2017-2018) of its East High School (EHS) offers Yoga I (9-12), whose description includes: “In this course students will unite the mind and body with the spirit, creating a more whole person” and it includes “meditation”. Its list of yoga benefits includes “self realization” and “inner peace”. It also offers Yoga II (10-12), whose description includes enhancing “mind/body connection”. SALT LAKE CITY — Utah is in need of foster families more than ever before, according to the state’s Division of Child and Family Services. Tanya Albornoz, The division’s Foster Care Program administrator, told Fox 13 News on Friday they are over capacity with children needing to be placed in foster care. Typically they can place 2,400 children. Currently, they have 2,900. March for Solidarity in Supporting Immigrants Held in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) About a hundred people marched through the streets of Salt Lake City all in an effort to support immigrants here in Utah. Signs were carried while people chanted about solidarity in an effort to show Utah’s willingness to fight for immigration rights. The march ended at the Capitol with a rally and speeches from several different human rights groups. All wanting immigrants to know they stand behind them. The goal was to let government officials know that they do not support the current unjust immigration laws and expect those officials to stand against such laws.
